Compensation
$240000 - $263000 / year
Position Summary
The Senior Contracts Manager is responsible for writing, negotiating, administering, monitoring, and managing contracts with various government agencies, contractors, and subcontractors.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Manages development and implementation of entire range of contract formation, negotiation and administration policies and processes in accordance with customer expectations and corporate objectives
• Drafts, negotiates, and administers contracts and subcontracts
• Analyzes significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies
• Reviews subcontractor agreements, design agreements and teaming agreements and identifies potential areas of concern
• Manages contract change control process and resolves contract issues that arise from changes
• Monitors contracts and services for compliance
• Recommends negotiation strategy and manages negotiation team on complex contractual issues
• Analyzes new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impacts on the business
• Provides guidance to cross-functional internal team members on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity
• Assists in estimating and bidding operations to ensure compliance with government regulations
• Assists in the development of and responses to RFPs
• Assesses financial risk of new projects
• Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes
• Prepares reports for management
• Assists in obtaining required permits by coordinating with the appropriate jurisdictions
• May participate in the development of contracts related to new business and partnering agreements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management, Construction Management, or a related field; JD and/or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) desirable
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of contracts management experience with a construction company
- Experience writing, negotiating, and administering a variety of contract types
- Expert knowledge of contracting concepts, regulations, and laws
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex contract issues
- Strong negotiating, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of financial issues and profit and loss implications
- Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Works in an office environment, but frequently travels locally and nationally
- Sits for long periods of time
- Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard
- May require standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
