Compensation

$70 - $72 / hour

Position Summary

The Engineering Manager leads the engineering function for RailWorks projects, overseeing design, technical standards, and quality assurance to ensure safe and efficient rail infrastructure delivery.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

•    Manage engineering teams in the planning, design, and review of rail construction projects.
•    Ensure engineering deliverables meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
•    Develop and maintain design standards, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
•    Coordinate with operations, construction, and project management teams.
•    Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and calculations.
•    Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting professional growth.
•    Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
•    10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership.
•    P.E. or P.Eng. license preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure and construction practices.
•    Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

•    Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits to rail projects.
•    Frequent sitting, reading, writing, and computer use.
•    Occasional walking, standing, or exposure to construction environments during site visits.
