Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000/yr

 

Job Summary 
Develops and implements policies or programs to promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance. 

 

Job Duties

  • Develops and delivers training programs to educate staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks in the organization. 
  • Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained. 
  • Purchases and distributes personal protection equipment or other related supplies. 
  • Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution. Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment. 
  • May develop and communicate facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans. 

 

Experience and Education

  • Performs work under minimal supervision. 
  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter. 
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a subordinate group. 
  • May act as a lead or first-level supervisor. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 6 years of experience preferred.
  • It may require appropriate certifications. 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed. 
  • Must be available to work various shifts such as nights/weekends.
