Salary: $70000 - $74000 / year
Position Summary
Provides onsite supervision of construction projects including organizing, planning and scheduling of the work, materials and equipment, supervising sub-contractors and staff, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Collaborates with Superintendent/Project Manager on planning, logistics, layout, and resource allocation
• Develops and manages project schedules; supervises field performance to ensure alignment with approved timelines
• Coordinates and expedites delivery of materials and equipment for timely on-site availability
• Reviews drawings, designs, and contract documents to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements
• Directs and monitors subcontractors and suppliers; ensures necessary permits are obtained
• Oversees total field construction effort to meet design, budget, and schedule goals
• Ensures craft productivity, efficient use of resources, and adherence to contractual obligations
• Maintains budgetary compliance and implements cost control measures
• Coordinates with inspection agencies and ensures regulatory compliance
• Provides technical support to superintendents and foremen on construction methods and equipment
• Enforces safety protocols and work rules; documents violations and initiates corrective actions
• Promotes site-wide safety and security practices; monitors safety training and OSHA compliance
• Communicates field changes to project team for change order processing
• Resolves construction issues and manages project closeout activities
• Acts as liaison among owners, inspectors, staff, and subcontractors
• Prepares internal and external reports to ensure clear understanding of project status
• Administers financial tracking systems to monitor costs and estimates
Required Skills and Qualifications
• A minimum of 6 years of construction management experience including a thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend drawings and specifications.
• Strong management skills and the ability to motivate employees.
• Track record of successfully executing projects on schedule and within budget.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong client relations, influencing skills and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Frequently works outdoors at construction sites and occasionally works indoors.
• Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under construction.
• Sits, reads, writes and uses a keyboard.
• May be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
• May be exposed to loud noise.
