Pay Range: $70000 - $95000 / year
Position Summary
Supervises field service personnel who perform on-site support and technical assistance with various heavy railroad equipment.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime.
• Researches and answers difficult customer questions about product features or issues and recommends appropriate upgrades.
• Implements methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery.
• Acts as a source of guidance to assist with complex services or issues.
• Trains field service representatives to perform routine services and effectively handle customer complaints.
• Keeps records of material and equipment usage and problems encountered.
• Performs equipment safety, maintenance, and brake checks.
• Fill out daily inspection report and turn into management on a daily basis.
• Complete job briefs throughout the day as necessary with other employees in/around machine and work area.
• Repairs and maintains equipment (including daily greasing), making emergency adjustments as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years recent related operations experience in a heavy construction and/or railroad environment
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work to deadlines
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures
• Ability to read and understand construction specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Works at construction sites
• Uses hands to handle and control materials, tools and vehicle controls
• Uses close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
• Moves or lifts heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds
• Uses eye-hand-foot coordination
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather
• Exposed to loud noise.
