Compensation

$48.90/hour

Position Summary

Reporting to the Signal Superintendent or Foreman, the Signalman performs all necessary installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required.  

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform general labor tasks as necessary 
• Assist in groundwork installations, wiring & testing 
• Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition 
• Perform all periodic inspection and tests as per railway and RailWorks standards 
• Comply with railway and RailWorks safe work practices and signal work procedures 
• Perform all administrative duties related to proper documentation as per RailWorks Quality Management System 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent 
• Three (3) years of recent related experience. Railway or construction experience would be an asset 
• Previous electronics training would be an asset 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Work is outdoors in all weather conditions 
• Exposure to live track/trains and high voltage 
• Work is safety sensitive and protective equipment is required 
• Travel to work sites is required.
