Compensation
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating logistics activities, assisting with maintenance scheduling, and ensuring efficient workflow across production, shipping and maintenance departments. This role serves as a bridge between operations, maintenance and leadership teams to ensure materials, equipment and resources are available and functioning to meet production goals.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Logistics Support
• Coordinate shipments; work with carriers, suppliers and production staff to ensure accurate deliveries.- Maintain any shipping/receiving related documents.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies.
- Prepare daily/weekly logistics reports (shipment status, delays, material shortages).
- Assist the Logistics Manager with any priority needs.
Maintenance Support
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with scheduling preventive maintenance.- Follow up with mechanics to maintain accurate equipment records.
- Coordinate and support service calls.
- Track spare parts, tools and maintenance supplies.
Operations
- Serve as a communication link between production, warehouse, maintenance and management.
- Prepare weekly reports summarizing logistics status, maintenance updates and operations issues.
- Maintain accurate filing system for equipment and service-related documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and best practices.
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, inventory management and basic maintenance terminology.
- 1-3 years of experience in operations, logistics or maintenance support in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to coordinate between multiple departments.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment where numerous tasks and projects are occurring simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write effective reports.
- Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and able to work with others through complex situations.
- Excellent decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Education
High School degree, some college or college degree preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Generally works in a manufacturing plant environment, including production floor and office.
• Frequently sits, stands, walks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard.
• May be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
• May be exposed to loud noise.
• May include occasional travel to field construction and maintenance sites.
• Can see up close, distances, colors and has use of peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Can tolerate variable and sometimes challenging conditions during visits or inspections of company equipment in a railroad environment.
