Position Summary
Reporting to the Signals Foreman, the selected individual will be responsible for successfully completing day-to-day tasks by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability and schedule, resulting in extreme customer satisfaction.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Embrace our safety culture and adhering to industry and company policies and procedures
- Support cable distribution & installation, housing installation, assembly of signal equipment.
- Perform labour tasks as required by the Site Foreman or Superintendent.
- Inspect, test, repair or replace S&C systems, devices and equipment.
- Responsibly operates company vehicles and/or equipment and ensures all daily maintenance and inspections of the units are completed
- Work cooperatively with other employees.
- Performs special duties as assigned by the Signals Foreman
- Performs any administrative duties related to proper documentation as per PNR Quality Management System
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Electrical or Signals experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience installing communications systems is an asset.
- Previous railway signals experience is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand specific documents including schedules, standard railway plans and specifications is an asset.
- Ability to understand and efficiently carry out instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong work ethic
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Works outdoors at construction sites.
- Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds.
- Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
- Exposed to loud noise.
- Exposed to live track/trains.
- Ability to work Days, Afternoons and Nights
- Travel required
